Hi everybody,

someone asked me, to include 5 layer pentahedron to the simulator.
Because using less memory, I put all my 3 simulators in one program.

The name of the simulator
is YAPS that means Yet Another Puzzle Simulator.

It includes 32 twisty puzzles.

Bermuda Cubes and Rubik's cube in 3D with animation and mouse input and textual input.

Circle/crazy cubes , cuboid 3x4x5 and the new pentahedron puzzles with shematic display ( no 3d) and textual input.

much fun with this.

and run yapsInstall.exe.

(edit)
After starting the program, you must select in the menu:
circle cubes,
Bermuda cubes (incl. Rubiks Cube ) in 3d
or
Pentahedron

But the M&D 5-layer Pentahedron Puzzle hasn't the triangle center pieces. :o :o

thank you for this hint.

I saw only the left picture and not the box.

With the additonal piece this puzzle is a little bit harder, I think.

Really? See my blog post here. There is a photo of one. There are also a lot of photos in my fb album.

Did they change something?

Thank you :D

The only issue is that in bwidget.cpp the include is:
Code:
#include "BWidget.h"

But it is case-sensitive and should read:
Code:
#include "bwidget.h"

Yes. I found this, after I tried to compile it under linux.
Thanks

No. But the two center-pieces can be permuted. In this case other pieces are permuted, too.

Andrea, thank you very much!

Finally I can play a fully functional 3x4x5. Although I'm not used to text input, I think I'll get more used to it in the future.

edit:

After playing the 3x4x5 for a while, I feel that the number of moves of scrambling may be too small, because sometimes scrambling doesn't break up piece pairs so that the solution is identical to 3x3x4.

I also got into a situation, where a one-color piece had no sticker. I couldn't imagine how it was physically possible. So I assumed it as blue and solved the puzzle.

I feel like I like the text input. Sometimes it's more convenient than pure mouse input.

Hi schuma, hi everybody

after I added the scramble function in the 3x4x5, the program makes this. I must look for that bug.

My hint:

Scramble this cuboid with input sequences.

First sramble the cuboid, that it doesn't loose his 3x4x5 cuboid shape.
After that scramble the shape.

After the puzzle has not cuboid shape it's difficult to separate outer pieces from sclice-pieces.

I hope, that the other puzzles haven't bugs.

Cheers,
Andrea
