This is a straightforward shape transformation of a Square-1/2. The incomplete turns of the top and bottom layers were not reimplemented but the shape was transformed into a cuboctahedron, an archimedean solid.
This shows how the Square-1 transforms into a 2x2x3 if there are only four pieces on the top and bottom layers.
