A non-shape-changing prism in shape with three layers and six segments and gears in the middle layer.

The name Cheese suggests that the puzzle is based on a 3-layer, 6-segment prism. The first speciality is that the top and bottom layers are geared to each other through the middle layer.
If this puzzle weren't geared, it would be a shape changing puzzle since the top and bottom layers don't have the 6-fold symmetry of the mechanism, but the middle layer does and since the top and bottom layers have 3-fold symmetry and are forced to rotate in 1/3 increments relative to each other, they don't change the shape. Also, the overall orientation of the mechanism within the rhombic dodecahedron was chosen so that the other turns don't change the shape, so the puzzle always stays a rhombic dodecahedron.
