Modular Crazy Planets

Another crazy 3x3x3 but one which can easily emulate the whole series of eight puzzles.

The Crazy Planets is a series of 8 circle cubes with different combinations of stationary and moving circles, each of varying difficulty. To play with all 8 puzzles, you'll need to buy all of them, or construct your own "DIY kit" using two specific variants - either expensive, or a massive pain. Additionally, all 8 variants look identical, barring the logo - unless you memorize which faces are stationary and which are moving, there's no actual indication of how a face will turn.

The modular crazy planets solves that issue using a reversible insert that can be reconfigured just by removing a center cap - no full disassembly needed. You do need a small flathead screwdriver to remove the cap - a prior iteration of the centers had the caps removable with your fingernail, but then they popped off when handing the puzzle normally so the stalk was lengthened a bit. All 8 variants can be easily constructed in under 5 minutes just by removing some caps and swapping the direction of the insert. Additionally, the caps are marked to indicate how a circle will turn - (X) for stationary circles, (+) for moving circles (in accordance with the official MF8 data sheets).
The inventor used a reversible insert that hooks into the core in one orientation (preventing center rotation), and blocks the edges in the other orientation (making it so that the circle cannot freely turn on its own).
