This puzzle was designed to be a corner turning Icosahedron with only "edge" pieces ("petals"), no "face" pieces. I works like a megaminx without corner pieces and is thereby very similar to the Alexander's Star.
The style of the cuts on the other hand resemble closely Fluffy cube, Breeze Cube and Flame Pyraminx.
