A Pyraminx turned by 60° inside its shape. Inspired by Tony Fisher's namesake creation.
The designer had long wondered if it would be possible to apply the concept of a fisher cube to a pyraminx and decided to finally design one for himself.
The process behind "fishering" a cube entails rotating the puzzle’s cuts around its central axis by 45º (half of one 90º turn), so because the pyraminx turns in increments of 120º, "fishering" it would imply rotating the cuts by 60º around the central axis. Due to the nature of the puzzle, the cuts are required to be curved.
It's worth noting that this puzzle could also be viewed as an axis pyraminx as the process behind "axising" implies rotating a puzzle’s cuts around a corner axis instead of the central one. Because this axis is one in the same on a pyraminx, either term could technically be correct.
Edge length: 98 mm
Weight: 61.5 grams
