A two-layered prism with 120°-turns at the four arms. Even more amazing: It is the first known self-dual puzzle.
This is a groundbreaking puzzle is several aspects:
1. The shape is completely new.
2. It is a prism which sides can be turned by something else then 180°.
3. This is the first prism where the sides are turned by 120°.
4. This is a self-dual puzzle.
Property 1 would have been enough to warrant a new entry in the museum. Property 2 is not new but every time again very interesting.
Property 3 is revolutionary in itself and many would have had a hard time to imagine such a puzzle.
Property 4 supersedes all others and deserves an explanation:
One can ask what a puzzle comes to life when the cut on the z-axis is placed deeper. The result is shown in image 5 which is essentially the same puzzle. No other puzzle with this property is known.
