Designed to be a 4x4x4 with exposed new theoretical pieces. Although it has 64 pieces it presents itself as a superset of the 3x3x3.

This puzzle is the result of years of discussions about NonHoldingPoint (aka: imaginary) pieces hidden in the geometry of any NxNxN.
First it looks like a 5x5x5 as it seems to have 5 layers but the layers 2 and 4 of each axis are fused which gives it 3 independent layers (plus one serving as reference), like a 4x4x4. The holes in the face pieces expose the theoretical 3x3x3 inside of every 5x5x5. Many pieces have elemented in multiple colours to create a Super variant, with all pieces distinguishable and with visible orientation.
Like a 4x4x4 (if imagined with inner 2x2x2) it consists of 64 pieces. These can be split into 10 different types of which four are already present in the 3x3x3.
8 corners
12 edges
6 faces
1 core.
The other piece types are:
1 new core
6 face pieces
12 new edges
6 new bifloors (2 types)
12 new triwall
Unlike a traditional 4x4x4 all piece types from the 3x3x3 (it is a true superset of the 3x3x3) are retained and there are no wings or X-pieces. Therefore this puzzle can not be classified as 4x4x4 for purposes of this museum.
