A nine-sided face turning solid, using a geometry developed by Diogo Sousa.

Diogo's Crystal is a nine-sided face turning puzzle. Although it bears a similarity to the inventor's previous Madness Plus puzzle, this geometry is different in that the sets of polar vertices all have equal dihedral angles. This fact, combined with slices that are all equidistant from the origin, allow more jumbling interactions than with Madness Plus.
This is the second puzzle implemented with this geometry, the first being Diogo Sousa's Hexapod puzzle. This puzzle is a face turning version of the axis system that is at the heart of Diogo's lovely Hexapod puzzle. Diogo's Crystal makes the geometry more plainly visible. The curved cuts are used to simplify the puzzle and minimize the number of parts.

Both puzzles are face turning with 9 axes, but with Diogo's geometry, the dihedral angles at the upper and lower vertex sets are all equal. This, combined with the fact that the slices are all equidistant from the origin, allows more jumbling interactions than with the More Madness geometry. Note that the three rhombic faces no longer have four-way symmetry, but they can turn to stop at any of five new positions (six total). Two of those six stops are non-jumbling turns.
Edge length: 48 mm (rhombic edge)
Edge length: 20 mm (short edge)
Edge length: 37 mm (remaining edges)
Weight: 152 grams
