After the megaminx sphere (see the separate entry) and the Ball.B-variants this is the third megaminx in shape of a sphere. Unlike the predecessors this puzzle has a different size which results in differently shaped pieces.
Mass production (by hknowstore) of this version started in 2014 for the price given here under the name "Megaminx ball". It was produced in a wide variety of colours:
