The Supernova is the first patented edition of the dodecahedron puzzle more commonly known as the Megaminx. It is approximately 31 mm along an edge.
Meffert's released the Megaminx shortly after the Supernova.
The variant with twelve colors is more often seen. The colours are: Silver, Green, Yellow, Orange, Beige, Dark Brown, Golden, White, Blue, Light Brown, Red, Dark Orange.
There exist some sample with white bodies. These have 6 colors painted directly onto the body and with non-removed mold marks.
The french version was named "le diamant".
