4x4x4 version of the Latch Cube.
With two blocked pieces on each edge, this cube is a higher order version of the Latch Cube by Katsuhiko Okamoto. Made by hand, cutting small plastic sheets (sheets printed in 3d) and using springs.
This is a collaboration with Cameron Brown.
The Latch 4x4x4 applies the concept of the Latch Cube to a 4x4x4. It has 4 locking pieces in each face (2 edges, 2 pieces per edge). 2x2x2 moves are not locked. Stickers are hand cut.
Since the inventor has never owned a Latch 3x3x3, he reinvented the mechanism by using a triangular shaped piece of plastic with a spring and some additional plastic sheets inside each edge piece.
