Tony Fisher made this from a Gear Skewb Extreme. When he disassembled one he could see a ball within the mechanism that only required a small amount of work to make the puzzle you see here. The only real problem was the stickers. The ball is quite small and they wouldn't match it's curvature, meaning there were ugly "sticky up" areas. I solved this by making small slits but these remain visible. Links
