The geometry of the Shadow Octahedron is based on the Face Turning Tetragonal Trapezohedron (with 15 puzzle at the time of the presentation of this puzzle), but with two additional cuts on the two opposite vertices of the trapezohedron. Images 6-7 show the additional turns.
In addition to its jumbling-only nature the puzzle has an "unnatural" form which is an octahedron. With "Shadow" the inventor wants to label all his designs which combine a jumbling-only geometry with a platonic solid.
