Politechnika (later renamed into Politoys) is wellknown as the original producer of Rubik's Cube. Lesser known is that Politechnika also produced a large number (at least 39) of promotional cubes. These were sold in various packages known from that era which most often carried
The version shown here advertises for Finomszerelv�nygy�r Eger. The company was founded in 1949 in the Berva valley near the city Eger in Hungary. The production of metal parts started in 1951. From 1954 onwards, also the Berva moped (small motorbike) was produced.
The logo is shown on the blue face piece.
There were two slightly different versions that came with different packages. Version 1 (images 1-4) uses a golden logo and came in a hungarian politoys package with Erno Rubik's signature. Version 2 (images 5-7) shows a white logo and came in the german politechnika package variant "Computer Consulting München" and was outfitted with the logo on the package.
The year is unknown but 1983 is an upper bound.
