This puzzle is the ultimate embodiment of the 9-axes edge turning trigonal dipyramid geometry. This is because it requires that every piece be in the correct location and orientation for the puzzle to be solved. Ultimate Insanity has the same part set as the previous Tricopter 9 Pillow, and HeliPrism 9 Ball puzzles, but unlike those puzzles, each piece is unique. It is significantly larger than the previous Edge of Insanity puzzle in order to accommodate the more complex 9-axes mechanism.
