This version has three attachments per face.
According to "The book of ingenious and diabolical puzzles" this puzzle was presented by Uwe Meffert in 1982.
David Singmaster mentioned it in Cubic Circular #3&4 from Spring 1982 under the name "Pyraminx Star". It is unknown which of the two variants with this name were described by Singmaster.
