At the first glance this looks just like a regular Void Cube, but what's special is it's turning abilities. By redesigning the mechanism from the inside-out, the designer was able to make it turn and behave like a speed cube. In fact, it's just a regular speedcube mechanism with enlarged centers, which allow the holes to be made in the middles. The great corner cutting (image 3) was achieved by adding eight screws and springs into the core. Because of the void, screws needed to be added to the vertices instead of to the faces like a regular Rubiks Cube. Links
