The Handlebar Cube implemented differently. It allows more moves than the predecessor.

Adam Cowan created the Handlebar Cube in 2009. Please refer to the seperate entry in the museum. Adam connected three pairs of non-adjacent pieces with bar-like bridges and therby created a special bandaged cube.
Tunnel Cube recreates this old invention with a way more complicated mechanism and retains the cube shape.
Compared with the predecessor this variant allows more moves. The Tunnel Cube allows the "bar" between edges to stand orthogonal to those of the corners. Image 9 shows a turn that is impossible on the Handlebar Cube.
Image 5 shows the puzzle with the black pieces removed. Image 6 shows it further disassembled without the red pieces.
In Januar 2014 the inventor presented a shape variant of this puzzle called "Invisible Handlebar Cube". See image 10. It was designed to resemble the preceeding puzzle with the additional abilities of the Tunnel Cube. Image 11 shows a state that is impossible on the Handlebar Cube.
Edge length: 60 mm
Weight: 90 grams
