Spider Gear

A spider-shaped cage containing bi-coloured gears and a central rotating ball.

This puzzle contains seven bi-coloured moving parts: six gears and an indented ball. The indents on the ball are arranged in an octahedral pattern so that after each move, a triangle is visible on the indents and the ball can be turned along any of the three directions indicated by the points of the triangle.
The object of the puzzle is to scramble it and solve it again into it's 2nd solved state - where the ball is turned upside-down - while maintaining the matching colours of all six gears.
Despite the fact that a spider has eight legs rather than six as on this puzzle, the Spider Gear's name was suggested by Oskar's wife due to its resemblance to the creature.
Diameter: 95 mm
