Four layers and one orthogonal ring of moving tiles.
This version has three layers and 40 tiles in 5 sets of 8 pieces. Other puzzles with cylindrical configuration have usually a moving hole but this one doesn't need one. The pieces can be moved between the layers due to the orthogonal ring.
The inventor applied for the patent in 2004.
There is also a version with three layers.
