A mass produced Treasure Chest with four pieces replaced. The result resembles the Hinged Gift Cube without being identical.

Shortly after Oskar van Deventer presented his Gift Cube he presented the Hinged Gift Cube which works like a bandaged cube. The hinges also assure that the puzzle is kept in one piece when opened.
Shortly after Uwe Meffert started selling the Treasure Chest (a mass produced version of the Gift Cube) Oskar presented the Hinged Treasure Chest. The design available from shapeways contains only four pieces which replace four pieces of the original puzzle. The coloured tiles of the original pieces have to be transferred to the new pieces too.
Compared with the Hinged Gift Cube this variant does not work like a traditional bandaged cube because both hinges can be split up in two pieces. This idea was conceived by Jim T. Murray.
