A 2x2x2 with tips on each piece. These tips are trivial but solving the whole puzzle is not.

Conceived in 2001 this puzzle hit the market on the Nuremberg Toy Fair in 2009. In the same year Uwe Meffert began selling these puzzles which names stand for "4 dimensions and 8 faces".
This puzzle is more than a 2x2x2 with trivial tips. The challenge compared to the original 2x2x2 is to find out which piece of the 2x2x2 has to go where. Orientating the tips is indeed trivial afterwards.
The shape remembers one of the stellated octahedron.
The puzzles weighs 101 grams and measures 67.3 mm from one tip of the 2x2x2 to the opposite tip.
