Framed Cube is a hollow 4x4x4 Rubik's Cube with a visible 2x2x2 Rubik's Cube inside. So you do not only have to solve the outer surface, but the inner cube as well. This concept was suggested by Per Kristen Fredlund but realized by Oskar van Deventer. The mechanism is a combination of a classic 2x2x2 Rubik's Cube and Hollow Cube.
