To explain this puzzle take a skewb and hold it with two opposite corners between your fingers. After wards truncate the top and bottom coners and transform the rest into a cube.
Another way to explain this puzzle is to truncated a hexagonal prism.
The result is a skewb within a hexahedral shape where one of the four cuts is parallel to the cubes faces.
