The concept of the Fisher cube was applied to the Master Skewb. The axis system of the Master Skewb was turned 45° within the almost hexahedral shape.
The first sample of this puzzle was made in the time when Master Skewbs were not mass produced. Therefore a face turning octahedron was used and the missing corners were inserted with magnets. The origin also explains the puzzle's name.
