This puzzle shares its axis system with Flora Cube. The designer presented it simultanously with the Jumble Cobble which differs in two ways from the original:
1. It is a shape transformation, utilizing a strange highly symmetric shape. This also transforms the puzzle into a strict face-turning one. The puzzle has 24 turning faces (12 rhombics and 12 irregular hexagons), 48 edge pieces and 56 corner pieces. The rhombic faces illustrate the local 2-fold symmetry better than the cubic shape of the Flora Cube.
2. The inventor added a set of stored cuts. This enhances extremely the turning possibilities and ensures that all corners look identical.

The closest relative the designer could find are the Jumble Rock and Jumble Pebble and therefore decided for the first part of its name.
