A truncated 9x9x9 with 3D printed extensions bandaged into a 7x8x9.
The base of this puzzle is a 9x9x9. The creator designed 3D printed extensions in CAD, printed, then glued the pieces to the base puzzle to produce the 7x8x9. To "hide" a layer away, the middle layer of one side was covered up by the two adjacent layers, then every adjacent layer was stepped half a cubie downwards to fill in the gap. Truncations were made to the edges of the inner puzzle to produce a much smaller final product.
