The design enhances the Penta Mixup with another turning possibility. Now the equatorial faces can be turned by 90°.
This puzzle has some cuts on the axial faces, all to make room for the new type of turn. An equatorial face can rotate by 90 degrees, and then the slice can move in increments of 36 degrees. That means that both types of edges and the equatorial face centres are all interchangeable mechanically, so this puzzle can get scrambled in wild ways.
The axial faces take more care to turn, but they have 2 internal layers worth of friction to deal with. The pieces are printed on the inventor's personal FDM machine, so the internals aren't necessarily perfect.
