The predecessor of Mefferts Bandaged Cube with only three turnable sides.
Viewed from one corner (see image 1) the puzzle seems to be equivalent to Mefferts Bandaged Cube. The difference is visible on the opposite corner. The Bicube is restricted to the three sides only visible in image 1.
In CFF 30, published in 1992, Dieter Gebhardt discussed this bandaged cube together with Rotascope II. See the seaprate entry. In his article Dieter Gebhardt also showed an equivalency between the two puzzles.
According to that article the Bicube was discussed first in 1981 by Raoul Raba (Inventor of the Rotascope) but (as far as is known) not implemented until 1992.
