A truncated 8x8x8 with 3D printed extensions.
The base of this puzzle is a 8x8x8. The creator designed 3D printed extensions in CAD, printed, then glued the pieces to the base puzzle to produce the 6x7x8. To "hide" a layer away, two middle layers of the original puzzle were fused, then every adjacent layer was stepped half a cubie downwards to fill in the gap. Truncations were made to the edges of the inner puzzle to produce a much smaller final product.
